This article analyzes the epistemic and political impact of images of Earth captured from outer space, regarding the return of the Artemis II mission in April 2026. Based on a contrast between the emblematic historical photographs Earthrise (1968) and Blue Marble (1972) with the recent Earthset, it argues the hypothesis that Artemis II operated primarily as a strategy for propaganda and geopolitical staging, rather than a scientific exploration enterprise.
